Event Information

Title: The Metaverse, NFTs and the Future of Security in a Virtual World

Description:

Building upon the foundations that have been laid over the past several years, the Metaverse is transitioning from an abstract future concept to an integrated part of our daily lives. In this session, we will explore what the “Metaverse” really is — and is not — fundamental concepts such as NFTs, digital assets and tokens, what they mean for the security industry and the rapidly evolving legislative landscape. Armed with an understanding of these key concepts, we will explore how the Metaverse interacts with core objectives and functions of the security industry such as asset protection, access control, data protection, privacy, executive protection, ESRM and what adaptations are required to remain relevant and effective.

  • Attendees will gain an operational knowledge of key vocabulary and concepts including Metaverse, NFTs, blockchain, digital currency, crypto token, avatar and digital assets.
  • Attendees will learn how the complete security lifecycle (developer to end user) needs to prepare and adapt for an increasingly virtual world and considerations unique to a virtual space.
