Event Information

Title: Trends in VR - Gamification of Tabletops, Preparedness Exercises, and Trainings

Description:

In this session, we will demonstrate how the application of gamification (point scoring, competition with others, rules of play) to tabletop and other preparedness exercises combined with a virtual reality environment can enable organizations to work through multiple real-life crisis scenarios, evaluate and improve their plan/response procedures and allow them to involve their employees and community responders in training and exercises with minimal disruption to the workplace environment. Using a virtual reality duplicate of their actual workspace, employees are presented with a scenario and then make choices as they navigate through the exercise while points and penalties are assessed and presented in the aggregate.

  • Participants will apply their existing experience within tabletop, preparedness and training exercises to the emerging technologies available within the virtual reality space.
  • Participates will create and direct the making of a specific scenario-based risk event within the VR environment.
  • Participants will learn to calculate savings and efficiencies gained by conducting these exercises within the VR space.
